ALEX Revell wants to kick start Rotherham United’s season with a win on his return to Southend United on Friday.
The Millers have lost their last three matches to slip to 13th in the League Two table.
And Revell knows his side must soon get back to winning ways to if they are to make the play-offs.
“We all feel we’re capable of finishing in the top seven but for that to happen we need to win more games, starting with Southend on Friday,” said the 28-year-old striker.
“We have to start performing and that makes Friday a really important game for us.”
Revell also wants to impress against his former side and he is relishing his latest return to Roots Hall.
The forward, who scored four goals in 43 games while with Blues, triumphed against Paul Sturrock’s side while with Leyton Orient in the Carling Cup at the start of August.
And he is now hoping for more of the same on Friday.
“It’s a good place to come and play and it’s a game I’m excited about playing in if it goes ahead,” said Revell.
“My time with the club was a little bit hit and miss but I enjoyed it and I made a lot of good friends down there.
“Many of them still go to watch Southend and it’s a good club so I’m glad they’re doing well again.
“But being a Rotherham player now I obviously want us to go there and get the points and hopefully we can do it.”
