SOUTHEND United remain confident of achieving promotion this season, according to midfielder Michael Timlin.
Blues have taken just one point from their last three matches.
But Timlin insists the side remain in good spirits and are eager to get back on track against Rotherham United at Roots Hall on Friday.
“We definitely all think we can get promotion,” said Timlin, 26.
“If someone had given us this scenario at the start of the season then we would’ve jumped at the chance because we’re still in a great position.
“We’re disappointed with how the last few games have gone but we can’t change that now.
“The games we can change are the ones coming up so we’re focused on those and can’t wait for the Rotherham game because we want to put a few wrongs right.”
Blues remain in the automatic promotion places but have now played more matches than rivals Crawley and Swindon.
And Timlin is expecting a close race for a place in League One.
“Things are getting tighter all the time and games are starting to run out,” said the former Swindon Town midfielder.
“It’s going to be close up there but there’s no reason why we can’t go on another good run like we did earlier on in the season.
“Friday’s game is now massive but all the games are going to be important now because we need to pick up points.”
