SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock was delighted to see his side return to winning ways at Gillingham on Monday night.
But the Scotsman is now ordering Blues to sort out their home form.
Southend have triumphed just once in their last eight games at Roots Hall.
And Sturrock is keen to end that wretched record against Crewe Alexandra this weekend.
“We need to get this home form sorted out now,” said Sturrock.
“Our away form has been exceptional and it’s vitally important we get settled down at home.”
However, Blues will go in to the game against the Railwaymen on the back of beating Gillingham 2-1 at the Priestfield Stadium.
That delighted Sturrock but he was also left to reflect on what could have been.
“I’m pleased we got the win at Gillingham as well but disappointed as well,” said Scotsman.
“I’m frustrated that the players couldn’t have responded like that in our last three or four games because if they had we would definitely have more points and be in a stronger position.
“But the game showed to the players that what I preach to them works for us and the first half was different class.
“The changes also helped and now we need to make sure we play just as well against Crewe.”
