NEIL Harris is determined to prevent Southend United suffering a double dose of frustration in their push for promotion this season.
Blues missed out on a top three finish by just a single point, despite beating Macclesfield Town 2-0 at Roots Hall on Saturday.
But Harris, who was joined on the score-sheet by Peter Gilbert, has already switched his sights towards securing success in the play-offs.
“There is no better way to win promotion than at Wembley so we need to really go for that now,” said Harris, 34.
“We’ve had a fantastic season and finishing up with 83 points is testament to that. Nine times out of 10 that would be enough to win promotion but unfortunately it hasn’t been this time.
“However it’s now come down to a three game season and we have to make sure we’re the best team in the play-offs.”
