THUNDERSLEY’S Stock Shotokan Karate Club took nine medals at the Southern Regions of England competition in Reading.
The adult kata team of Graham Skarott (3rd Dan), Paul Johnston (2nd Dan) and Emma Burke (1st Kyu) came third.
Two junior teams made up of Jake Scott, 12, Bethany King, 11, and Bradley Tyler, 10, entered and the older group and also took third place.
The club’s youngest team consisted of Kiera Pipe, 10, Amelia Skarott and Lee Brittney, both nine. They only missed going through to the finals by 0.3 of a mark.
Lisa Beard, 20, won bronze for individual kata, while Bradley Tyler and Bethany King both recieved silver for kumite.
Stock Instructor Sensei Adam Purkiss said: “For some of our juniors it was their first time of entering a competition, so they did extremely well.”
Samuel Campbell, 13, Tate Coppin, 12, Jack Thomson, nine, and Sammy Tyler, eight, also all performed well at the competition.
