Danny Cowley says Jason Hallett will boost Concord attacking options
11:39am Saturday 4th August 2012 in Sport By James Colasanti
Former Canvey man Jason Hallett has completed his move to island rivals Concord.
CONCORD manager Danny Cowley says new striker Jason Hallett will provide genuine competition to last season’s 51-goal strike pairing of Tony Stokes and Harry Elmes.
The Beachboys confirmed the signing of former Canvey man Hallett this week after a successful trial.
Hallett, who scored 15 goals for the Gulls last season, will be hoping to start when Concord host League Two neighbours Southend United in their last home game of the pre-season today.
Cowley said: “Jason will provide real competition for Tony and Harry, which we have not had before.
“And the great thing is that all three of them give me something different in terms of how they play.”
Cowley said the club have also completed a deal to bring former Wealdstone midfielder Danny Spendlove to the club, and that they are close to signing ex-Hornchurch right back Billy Coyne.
