Bilel Mohsni's future unclear after Southend United reject bid from West Ham United

Bilel Mohsni - future remains unclear Bilel Mohsni - future remains unclear

BILEL Mohsni’s future remains unclear after Southend United rejected West Ham’s £150,000 offer for the French defender.

The centre-back recently spent two weeks on trial with the Hammers and also went on tour to Germany with the Premier League newcomers.

But Blues have opted to knock back their initial bid and are believed to have asked for at least double for the 25-year-old who has now headed home to France.

“Everything is a bit up in the air for Bilel at the moment and he’s gone back to France for the time being,” said a source close to the player.

“West Ham had been impressed by what they saw and were keen to sign him but Southend are being a bit unrealistic with the price tag they’ve put on his head.

“West Ham aren’t prepared to pay want Southend are asking for and Bilel’s stuck in the middle of it all.

“Nobody really knows where he will go from here, including himself.”

Mohsni, who has been with Blues for two years, previously insisted he would not be heading back to Roots Hall .

However, with a season still to go on his contract, Southend will still have to stump up his wages until he signs for a new club.

But he does seem destined to depart after not being given a squad number by Blues for the forthcoming season.

His number six shirt has been handed to new signing Ryan Cresswell while Freddy Eastwood will wear number seven.

However, number one remains vacant as Blues still have no first choice goalkeeper.

How so?. He'll cost you more than that if you have to carry on paying his wages for another year. BFS is no mug.

If he's good enough for the Premier League then he's worth far more than £150k, and West Ham know that. And we won't be paying any of his wages. Any player that doesn't fulfil their job (i.e. attending training and being available for matches) will be fined all of their wages on a weekly basis. If West Ham don't improve their offer, Moshni will have to decide whether to go unpaid for a year or whether to be a professional and come back to the club.

Agreed on every point. Its a negotiation, and I doubt we'll ever see him playing for us again.

To all, the West Ham fans defending the £150K offer as being right, Mohsni has obviously looked to force a move out of Southend by any means on the basis that he believes he is Premier League material & maybe West Ham agree with that. Southend have a duty to get a fair transfer fee & West Ham would want the same if they were the selling club. How will the West Ham fans feel if he goes there & shortly after decides that he is too good for West Ham & belongs at Barcelona or Real Madrid as he might then believe he is Champions League material? What goes around comes around & West Ham might be in a similar situation in future if Mohsni gets bored there.

Agree with all that has been said, West Ham are just typical of Premiership clubs, thinking they can get a player whom they believe is of premiership standard, at rock bottom prices. If Mohsni throws his rattle out of the pram again by staying in France, then Blues Management should fine him a weeks wages for every week he is absent. Why do footballers sign contracts anyway, They should be made to honour them, Mohsni was happy to put pen to paper for another year and that should be that.
