Rochford Hundred face 'toughest possible test' against Bury St Edmunds

ROCHFORD  Hundred coach Mark Sexton feels his side will be starting the season with the hardest test possible when they head to Bury St Edmunds tomorrow.

Bury finished fourth in the table last term after being docked 25 points for fielding an ineligible player.

And Sexton has them down as favourites for promotion this season.

“For me Bury are the best side in the league so it’s going to be a very hard game for us to start off with,” said Sexton.

“But we’ll give it a good go and our target this year is to finish in mid-table after staying up by our finger-tips last season.”

Since the end of last year, Rochford have lost full-back Kit Branch who has opted to go and play in Australia.

Number eight George Chipper and front row Scott Chivers are also out with shoulder injuries but new signing Lloyd O’Connor looks set to make his debut at scrum-half.
