Rochford face Colchester battle

ROCHFORD Hundred face another tough task tomorrow when they host Colchester at Magnolia Road.

Rochford were heavily beaten 99-0 at Bury St Edmunds on the opening day of the season last Saturday.

And things will not get any easier against a Colchester side who only just missed out on promotion last term.

However, Rochford’s first team manager Graham Pratt feels the team will be up to the task.

“We will need to put in a huge performance against our old rivals but I am sure we will do so,” said Pratt.

“We were hugely disappointed last weekend, but now the boys are in the mood to show they have a great deal more to offer than that was on display last week.”

New front row signing Byron DeFreitas, has been added to the Rochford squad but looks set to start this important game on the bench.

Ryan Stephenson makes a return to the second row and Robert Prior joins captain Matt Stewart in the centre with Nick Brown coming in at full back.

Basildon will also be looking for their first win in London One North when they entertain Brentwood.

Basildon were beaten 30-8 against Old Haberdashers last Saturday and Brentwood were also seen off, losing 39-12 against Eton Manor.
