ANDREW McClintock will skipper the side on his return to action for Southend Rugby Club against league leaders Henley tomorrow.
The experienced second row was unavailable for the Seasiders' first two matches of the season.
And the club's director of rugby Chris Green is now hoping his presence can make a difference to the team.
“Macca has good experience and leadership skills so it's good to have him back,” said Green.
“I've made him captain of the side because of that but it's a job he's done here before so we know he's capable of doing it well.
“We're quite a young side so having an older head out there will hopefully help the players in and around him and also make a difference to the team.
“But this will be a real test for us.”
Henley come to Warners Bridge having won both of their matches so far and sitting top of the National Two South table.
However, despite suffering a disappointing 59-25 defeat at Shelford last weekend, Green remains confident of enjoying a good season.
And he is certain his side will give Henley a stern game.
“We're at home and I think we can test them,” said Green.
“Saturday was frustrating but we had a good pre-season and I feel good about the team we have here.
“Henley are the team to beat for me this year and they've made a decent start but we want to try and upset them.”
As they attempt to do so, fly-half Jack Jones is pushing for a recall which could see summer signing Liam MacGeachy switch to his more familiar role at centre.
