Harvey boost as Westcliff Rugby Club face Hertford

INFLUENTIAL centre Elliott Harvey is back in Westcliff ’s squad for tomorrow’s clash against Hertford.

Harvey missed last weekend’s 32-20 defeat at Old Elthamians.

And Westcliff’s first team manager Rick Compton is delighted to have Harvey available again.

“It’s good news to have Elliott back this weekend but we don’t really know what to expect against Hertford if we’re honest,” said Compton.

“They were relegated from the league above last season and have made a similar start to us this year.

“However, I’m sure they be tough opposition because there are no easy games at all in this league.”

Westcliff also have back row Ian Dartnell back in their squad but hooker Ashley Whiting is out after he snapped his Achilles tendon last weekend.

The Aviation Way-based side have also been hit by members of their squad returning to university.

But 18-year-old front row Jack Smith has again been included in the matchday party.

Fourth-placed Thurrock , who have won two out of three so far, are also at home as they host Old Elthamians looking to continue their good start to life in National Three London & SE after winning London One North last term.
