PAUL Turner has started to coach Southend Rugby Club’s top young players.

The former Wales fly-half, who coaches at Wasps and has previously worked with Sale, Gloucester and Saracens, was at Warners Bridge for the first time last week.

And the head of Southend’s mini and youth section Kevin Harman is thrilled to have Turner connected with the club.

“Paul will be coming in once a month all season and it’s fantastic for us to have him coming in,” said Harman.

“He’s known for being one of the best coaches of his generation and will definitely help our young players fulfil their potential.”

Turner will work with Southend’s players between the ages of 10 and 16.

Any youngsters wishing to join the club can do so by contacting Lee McDowell, the mini and youth chairman on 07747 090806.
