Night time is the right time for Tom who lands a PB
4:00pm Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in Sport
TOM Lester fished a night on the north bank with his dad Steve and landed a new personal best carp.
Conditions were far from perfect and thanks to the brightest moon for years and not a breath of wind, they hardly had a bite.
An increase in the cloud and wind the following day improved sport and Tom landed a 24lb 12oz mirror.
Dean Mesher, from Eastwood, braved an easterly gale and rain on the long arm, but was rewarded with four fish to 21lb, but he lost two more.
Mesher was quite pleased he caught virtually no tench or bream as he was already having trouble staying dry in his bivy.
Stu Morgan and bailiff Anthony Gull both fished separate nights on the rope swim on the north bank.
Morgan’s night was calm and clear and he enjoyed sport with some good tench and mirrors of 12lb and 21lb.
Gull’s night was a complete contrast, but he managed to stay warm and dry through a south westerly gale along with torrents of rain to land four good doubles and one low 20lb fish.
Shane Lewis fished the short arm, and had all his fish stayed on he would have banked four good fish.
But he left the lake pleased after landing mirrors of 12lb and 21lb.
Phil Moore spent an extremely productive day on the long arm where he landed two specimens, a 23lb mirror, plus a 7lb tench.
