Rochford Hundred hoping for rare victory over Brentwood

ROCHFORD Hundred are hoping for a rare victory against Brentwood at Magnolia Road tomorrow.

Hundred were beaten twice by their Essex rivals in London One North last season.

But their first team manager Graham Pratt is hoping to avoid a similar outcome on Saturday.

“Brentwood have been a bogey side for us over the years but we’re quietly confident going in to the game tomorrow,” said Pratt.

“We will have at least 200 fans there cheering us on and the team normally turn things on at home so hopefully we can again.

“We’re not too sure what to expect against this Brentwood side because they’re going through a transitional period and introducing some youngsters to the team.

“However, if we get in their faces then we are more than capable of getting a good result.”

Rochford, who were narrowly beaten at Old Haberdashers last weekend, go in the game 10th in the 14 team table, four places below Brentwood.

Basildon still sit bottom of the league, having lost all five of their matches this term but they will be hopeful of ending their run of bad results this weekend as they travel to Beaconsfield.

They sit just above Basildon in the table and have also not won so far this season.

In London Three North East, Canvey Island will be looking to build on last weekend’s 43-17 win over East London when they travel to Old Brentwoods and South Woodham Ferrers, who have won two of their three matches, host Cantabrigian.

Billericay will be hoping for a case of third time lucky in Essex One when they travel to bottom of the table Burnham on Crouch after suffering two straight defeats.

In Essex Two, Stanford le Hope travel to Phantoms and Pegasus Palmerians head to Writtle Wanderers.
