IT was fish all round when south Essex anglers Rory Coase, Ray Lilley, Graham Patching, Mick Toomer and Stewart Ward spent a day aboard Brian Joslin’s Rye-based charter boat Christyann.
The five anglers landed conger to 35lb, pollock to 14lb, cod into double figures, black bream, mackerel, pouting and red gurnard.
The party started their day fishing mackerel baits into a wreck where they landed a dozen conger eels to 35lb.
The biggest of the conger fell to Patching who christened a new rod taking a conger, a cod, and a Pollock on his first three drops!
Later in the day skipper Joslin moved to a different wreck where the anglers fished shad and sidewinder lures on the drift.
This produced a succession of cod to more than 10lb, with Southend Angling Centre proprietor Coase taking two double-figure specimens on the same drift.
Some better pollock where also taken, with the best falling to bankers agent Stewart Ward, who tempted a personal best 14-pounder with an orange shad.
