STANFORD le Hope matchman John Musson continued his run of sparkling form by taking yet another win at the at the Ridley Angling Products Gloucester Park Open series.

His 26lb winning haul saw him finish 10lb clear of the field on a day when the bitterly cold conditions severely restricted catches.

Musson fished the eastern end of the cockle bank at the Basildon water, where he quivertipped luncheon meat tight to the island.

The first two hours of the competition saw him land four carp, before the wind changed and the fish stopped feeding.

This latest win means John has now taken three wins and two second places in the last five matches!

A tight battle for second place saw Ray Lilley finish just ahead with two carp and a roach for 16lb 11oz.

In common with the winner, Lilley's fish all came in the first two hours of the match.

Lilley fished the cockle bank presenting luncheon meat baits tight to the island.

Shane Esterbrook was forced into third place with his two carp weighing in at 16lb 6oz.

Esterbrook also started well landing his two carp in the early stages of the match, and did not get a single bite after the first two hours.
