ATHLETICS: Hockley saw Thurrock Harriers U17 men bring home the bacon.

For the second time the U17s won — but this time by just a single point from Havering.

The U17 team comprised Darryl Worbey 4th; Ollie Davey 8th; Ben Davey 10th; James Vaughan 14th; Dennis Cross 16th; Lennox Thompson 25th; Lewis Prothero 28th and Adam Dowman 30th.

The tight knit and successful U17s have come through from coaching groups headed by Ken Smith, Les Bell, David Staines and Terry Noonan.

Other results: U13 Girl, Gemma Holloway 11th.

The U15 Boys competition was a tough affair with Tom Richardson producing another first place.
