MARK FOSTER
Billericay born Foster competed at his fifth Olympic Games during the summer and also carried the Great Britain flag at the opening ceremony in Beijing.
He also appeared in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

BENFLEET RUNNING CLUB
Benfleet Running Club have enjoyed their most successful ever season.
It was topped off with a win in the Essex Way Relay in September.

AARON WILLIAMS/BASILDON RUGBY CLUB
Williams broke his neck just over a year ago while playing rugby for Basildon against South Woodham and will now be paralysed for the rest of his life.
The club set up a trust fund to raise money for him and other charities.
With donations, they have now collected more than £100,000

KEITH PASSINGHAM
Keith was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2000.
But he was finally given the all clear in 2006 and successfully completed this year’s London Marathon.

WESTCLIFF RUGBY CLUB
Westcliff won London Three North East last season and are now playing in London Two North, the highest level in their history.
