WHEN the sports awards were hit by a couple of late withdrawals of personalities to present the prizes, top snooker star Stuart Bingham was on cue to step into the breach.
The Basildon potter was a presenter at last year’s inaugural Echo presentations and admitted: “I was delighted to step in again.
“I think it’s a great idea to reward the outstanding sporting talent south-east Essex has to offer and I was happy to help out.”
Bingham presented the Junior Sports Personality prize and Bingham said: “Josh Rees certainly seemed a good choice.
“He’s achieved success in a variety of sports and is obviously a credit to both his school and family.”
