JOSH Dubovie showed that local talent extends beyond just sport, with a stunning display during the interval.

The Laindon-based singer, who is just 18-years-old, kept a crowd of more than 500 entertained with a magnificent seven songs.

And he was overjoyed to play a part in the occasion.

“It was a real privilege to be able to perform in front of so many famous faces and I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Dubovie.

“There was a really nice energy and atmosphere about the awards and that made it brilliant to be up there on the stage.

“Being local myself made it even better and I would like to congratulate all the winners on the night.”

But performing at the Echo Sports Awards was just the latest highlight for Dubovie.

Last year he won the Blues Idol competition organised by Southend United in conjunction with the Echo and supported Journey South and the Bootleg Beatles at the BasFestival.

He has also won the Voice of St Lukes contest and Billericay’s Got Talent, before going onto to sing at the Bobby Moore Sports Ball at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Dubovie is also set to enter this year’s X Factor competition.
