THE Echo Sports Personality of the Year Awards are back — and we want you to tell us who you think should be receiving the awards.

Thousands of Echo readers have voted in the past two years to back their favourites, and now the time has come around to nominate again.

This year’s event will be held at Billericay Town Football Club’s New Lodge home in Blunts Wall Road, Billericay, and will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, as we celebrate another year of south Essex sport.

To kick-start the awards we need your nominations for the following four sections: Sports Personality of the Year, Junior Sports Personality of the Year, Team of the Year and Special Achievement.

The important thing is to get your nominations in, as the five sports people or teams receiving the most nominations in each category will go through to voting process that will decide the winners.

Echo readers are able to put forward whoever they want to nominate in each section, but nominations must be received by Monday 8th March 2010.

We will then reveal the most popular five nominations in each category and it will then be time to cast your votes.

The final results will be announced on the evening of the awards, where the winner of the Lifetime Achievement prize will be revealed as well.
