Football salutes awards

THE world of non-league football was fully represented on the night with a large party from Great Wakering Rovers leading the way.

Manager Iain O'Connell, assistant Dave Patient and chairman Roy Kettridge were among those present.

Other well-known personalities included Chelmsford City's former England non-league international Jon Keeling, current Billericay Town defender Danny Kerrigan, ex-New Lodge goal star Andy Howard and former Basildon United boss Ron Hanley.

Said O'Connell: "It's been a really fabulous night and I'm sure this will be the first of many.

"We'll certainly always support the night in the future. It's great to be able to meet up with other people from the world of sport locally and it's been really enjoyable.

"I think it's big credit to the Echo and Sky Bar for putting the night on."
