ESSEX Pirates skipper Dean Williams wants his side to again be on top form when they host Cheshire Jets this Saturday.
Pirates netted 100 points for the first time ever against Newcastle Eagles last weekend.
And Williams is now demanding another dominant display at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre.
“We played really well against Newcastle Eagles and want to do the same against Jets now,” said Williams.
“It was disappointing we didn’t win against Newcastle and that speaks volumes about how much we have improved.
“We got ahead in the game and I think there were two main reasons why.
“Newcastle had a big cup game match the night after playing us but the main factor in us matching them was our good form and that we played the way we wanted to.
“Us now having more experience helps with that and now we want a win at the weekend.”
Pirates won 80-72 when they faced Jets in December. But Will-iams is expecting a tough re-match, which tips-off at 7.30pm.
“Jets have been beating sides we have been losing to in recent weeks so it will be a hard game,” said Williams. “They have some very dangerous players in their squad too, including James Hamilton who is having a fantastic season for them.
“Chez Marks has always scored well and will be a real threat — as will Stephen Gayle coming off the bench. Once he gets going he’s quite hard to stop so I think keeping him quiet could well be the key.
“We played Chez well last time we played them and, if we do that again, then this is a winnable game which we want to get a victory from.”
