BARRY Corr wants to fire Southend United back to winning ways against Plymouth Argyle this weekend.

Corr took his tally to five goals in four games by hitting the back of the net again in Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Brentford in the FA Cup.

But the Irishman now has his sights set on the Pilgrims.

And he is desperate to help Blues end a run of three successive league defeats.

“We haven’t won in our last three games and we want to end that against Plymouth now,” said Corr, 27.

“We want to win games and we want that to start another good run with a victory on Saturday.

“The league is our bread and butter and the main priority of the season, so we want a win to get ourselves going again.”

Corr also wants to play a part after again hitting the back of the net against Brentford.

The forward headed home a right-wing cross from Ryan Leonard to take his season’s tally to eight.

The tall targetman has also bagged eight goals in his last eight appearances in the FA Cup.

But he felt Blues could have no complaints about suffering a 2-1 defeat in the knock-out competition at Brentford on Tuesday night.

“Brentford are a really good side and they certainly showed that against us again when we played them,” said Corr.

“Their manager said we had disrespected them, but nothing could be further from the truth to be honest because we know how strong they are.

“We would’ve lost by more if it wasn’t for our goalkeeper Paul Smith, who made some fantastic saves, and we can have no complaints about the result.

“I actually think we missed our best chance to win the tie when we played them at Roots Hall because we were the better team and missed some good chances. But now it’s all about the league again and making sure we win on Saturday.”
