BARRY Corr and Cauley Woodrow both returned to the scoresheet as a strong Southend United side triumphed 5-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at local rivals Colchester United yesterday.

Corr has gone nine first team matches without hitting the back of the net for the Shrimpers, while Woodrow has failed to score in four outings since signing on loan from Fulham.

But they were both on target against the U’s.

John White, who has never scored a competitive goal, was also on target along with midfielder Conor Clifford.

Blues surprisingly fielded a number of first team players in their starting line-up with Ben Coker, Adam Thompson, Luke Prosser, White, Clifford and Woodrow all starting.

Corr, Jack Payne and Anthony Straker all played the final 30 minutes with Corr helping himself to a brace.

Goalkeeper Paul Smith, midfielders Clifford and Michael Timlin, striker Craig Reid and trialist Gomis Bedsante were all given a full 90 minutes.
