SOUTHEND United are set to complete the loan signing of West Ham United striker Elliot Lee tomorrow.

And Echosport understands the Shrimpers are also in talks to bring centre-back Jakub Sokolik back to the club on loan.

Nineteen-year-old Lee spent time on loan at Colchester United last season, scoring once in four games.

But the youngster will now be spending the next three months with the Shrimpers as they bid to get their season back on track.

Lee, who is the son of former England and Newcastle midfielder Robert, has also made two substitute appearances for the Hammers and will be looking to revive the Southend strike-force which has failed to fire so far this season.

Blues boss Phil Brown is also believed to be attempting to shore up his defence by bringing Sokolik back to Roots Hall.

The 21-year-old Czech centre-back impressed while on loan with Southend at the end of last season, making 11 appearances.

However, he opted against joining the Shrimpers on a permanent basis in favour of a switch to League One Yeovil Town.

But Sokolik has failed to nail down a regular starting slot with the Glovers and Brown is now attempting to bring him back in ahead of Saturday's clash at Mansfield Town.
