BLUES boss Phil Brown was undone by a familiar face at the weekend as Josh Windass played a pivotal part in Accrington Stanley winning 2-1 at Roots Hall.

Windass’ father, Dean, was a key figure in the Hull City side which won promotion to the Premier League when Brown was in charge.

And the Shrimpers boss believes Windass junior can go a long way in the game.

“The lad Windass has really come on,” said Brown.

“I obviously know his dad Dean well. He was a late developer himself and his son looks like he’s doing the same because he had a good game.

“In 2008 when we won promotion at Hull, Josh was probably only about 14.

“I think he was on the balcony when we paraded the trophy around the city centre.

“But he’s already following in the foot-steps of his father and he’s not a shy lad either.

“He’s a good player and I thought he had a good game against us.”
