SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Daniel Bentley suffered a broken nose during the Shrimpers’ 1-0 win at Hartlepoool.
Bentley picked up the injury clattering into Cian Bolger after bravely beating Hartlepool striker Marlon Harewood to a long ball forward in the closing stages.
But Brown does not expect Bentley to be forced to the sidelines.
“Dan looks like he’s gone five or six rounds with Mike Tyson but I don’t think it will be a problem to him,” said the 55-year-old.
“It’s a bloody nose which looks like it’s broken to me but he’s a big strong boy and he’s got a lot of bottle.
“He showed that in picking up the injury because it was a last ditch challenge from two players desperate to keep a clean sheet and it was a real a team effort which made sure that happened.”
Brown also revealed that Shrimpers skipper John White needed two stitches on a head wound.
