DAVID Worrall’s fine free-kick at Bury has been added to the list of contenders for Southend United’s goal of the season competition.

Worrall bagged the only goal of the game at Gigg Lane.

And Shrimpers boss Phil Brown has selected the strike as his favourite of the season so far.

“For the level of importance I would probably go for David Worrall,” said Brown.

“All goals are important and Ryan Leonard’s goal at Dagenham was a great strike too.

“Scoring with a dipping volley from 35 yards is a great technique but Wozza’s goal gets my vote, especially when you do think about just why.”

The goal of the season competition is being run by the Echo and the voting deadline has now been extended until 5pm on Friday.

To make your vote count email chris.phillips@nqe.com or tweet it to @cjphillips1982.

One voter will also be selected randomly to present the prize on the pitch before Saturday's game with Luton Town.
