SOUTHEND United have confirmed assistant manager Dave Penney has left the club.
Echosport revealed earlier today how Penney had been unable to agree a new deal with the Shrimpers.
And Blues chief executive Steve Kavanagh instead the 50-year-old’s departure was down to personal reasons.
“We offered Dave a new contract but he has decided for personal reasons not to accept and plans to move back to West Yorkshire,” said Kavanagh.
“I would like to thank Dave for all his efforts over the last two years and wish him well in the future.”
Echosport understands Blues’ first team coach Graham Coughlan has already been offered the assistant manager’s job.
