SOUTHEND United’s supporters flocked to the club’s annual Meet The Blues Day at Boots & Laces on Sunday.

Blues unveiled their new home kit for next season at the event while players signed autographs for close to two hours with the fans.

A match involving a number of former players – including Kevin Maher and Mark Bentley – then took on a side featuring Blues boss Phil Brown and his assistant Graham Coughlan.

The game finished in a 2-2 draw and Brown was pleased to see so many fans in attendance.

“It’s always great to meet the supporters and it was brilliant to see the place so packed out to continue the feelgood factor from Wembley at the end of last season,” said Brown.

“The fans play a huge part in what we do so I think these days are really important.”
