SOUTHEND United chairman Ron Martin has revealed no new bids have been made for the club’s highly rated goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.
The 22-year-old missed last night’s friendly against Charlton Athletic with an illness.
But Martin, who rejected a £1million offer from Hull City for the shot-stopper last week, insists he has not received any more bids for Bentley, despite rumoured interest from Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers.
“We have had no further interest and I do not wish to sell Dan Bentley,” said Martin.
“Also Dan has not said he wants to leave Southend and we would like him to agree a new extended contract for Dan to continue to play an important role in the club’s future.”
