SOUTHEND United skipper John White has signed a new two year deal at the club.
As was revealed in yesterday’s Echo, White has agreed to extend his spell with the Shrimpers.
And the 29-year-old is pleased to be remaining at Roots Hall.
“I’m really pleased to have agreed a new deal with the club,” said White.
“It’s been great here since I came and the last two years have been successful with the play-off finish and then promotion at Wembley last season.
“The fans have always been good to me, my family and I are settled in the area and I love playing and captaining the club.
“Hopefully there can be more success over the next couple of years too.”
Ben Coker, Gary Deegan and David Worrall are also close to signing new deals with the Shrimpers.
