FORMER Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan is training with Southend United.
The 27-year-old Irishman was released by the Eagles at the end of last season.
And he has now teamed up with the Shrimpers ahead of the new campaign.
Garvan started his career with Ipswich Town where he made 174 appearances before joining Palace in August 2010.
The midfielder played 87 times for the Eagles and has also spent time on loan with both Millwall and Bolton.
Another former Millwall man, defender Jack Smith, is also training with Blues.
The 31-year-old has lined up for Watford, Swindon Town and AFC Wimbledon as well as the Lions and has made more than 300 appearances during his career.
