BLUES boss Phil Brown insists he is still keen on signing Stephen McLaughlin from Nottingham Forest.
Brown claimed last week that a move for the Irish winger had been put on hold.
But the Shrimpers chief still hopes to be able to bring McLaughlin back to Roots Hall.
“I’m still keen on signing Stephen,” said Brown.
“Hopefully we can get it done before the transfer window closes next week.”
McLaughlin ended last season on loan with Blues, scoring twice in nine games.
