SOUTHEND United’s youth team chief Ricky Duncan believes Blues boast one of the best goalkeeping set-ups outside the Premier League after Harry Seaden was called up to another England training camp.

The FitzWimarc School pupil has been invited to his second under 15 call up in the space of three months.

And Duncan has been left delighted by Seaden’s international recognition. “The call up is a credit to the goalkeeping structure we have at the football club which has got to be one of the best outside the Premier League,” said Duncan.

“I can’t think of too many clubs who have produced keepers like Dan Bentley and Ted Smith.

“Josh Bexon is under the radar but speak to anyone and they will tell you we have the best goalkeeper in the league.

“James Macree is a hell of a goalkeeper but he can’t get in and Harry’s behind them coming up.

“He’s doing fantastically well and it’s testament to all the staff here that we keep on finding these goalkeepers. “ Seaden also attended a training camp for England’s best young goalkeepers in August.

And Duncan is proud of the youngster’s achievements.

“Harry did well and it’s pleasing to see he’s been called up again to an under 15 England goalkeeping course,” said Duncan.

“He will get to work with the best goalkeepers and it’s great for him.

“The stature of the boy changed when he came back from the last one.

“He’s really stepping up and it’s great for everyone here to see.”
