SOUTHEND United midfielder Ryan Leonard has switched his sights from Justin Bieber to Beyonce.

Leonard’s admiration for the pop star, which was first revealed in Echosport, went global when Bieber spoke about the story to his 70million followers on Twitter.

The in-form Leonard is now keen to attract interest from other superstars.

But he is far more focused on making sure the Shrimpers see off Wigan Athletic at Roots Hall tomorrow.

“It’s all gone a bit mad this week,” said Leonard, who listens to Bieber’s music in the dressing room with his Blues team-mates before matches.

“It all started off with the celebration at Sheffield United and the story in the Echo and now it has gone crazy.

“My sister is 19 and she’s going mad about it because she’s a massive Justin Bieber fan.

“His tweet was nice and my phone was going crazy after he sent it.

“But now it might be time to see what other celebrities we can get supporting the Shrimpers.

“I quite like Beyonce so I might start with her but all I’m really focusing on is the game tomorrow.

“We want to keep the good run going and three points this weekend is the most important thing.”

And Leonard would love help the eighth placed Blues triumph against the Latics so he can show off another Bieber related celebration.

“We do have something lined up for the next goal,” said Leonard.

“I’m not sure whether Adam Barrett will join in with it but we’re keeping it under wraps and only certain players know the plan!

“However, whether I score or not I don't mind, it’s the result that matters and that’s all that I care about - although we do all want Justin Bieber to come to Southend to have a drink with us.”
