BURY have had a bid rejected for Southend United winger David Worrall.

The 25-year-old’s future with the Shrimpers is in doubt after he was left out of the squad for Saturday’s 3-0 win against Coventry City.

But Blues boss Phil Brown has revealed the Shakers’ first offer has been turned down by chairman Ron Martin.

“Bury made a derisory offer for David Worrall which my chairman has rejected,” confirmed Brown.

Worrall, who has made 70 appearances for Blues, has previously enjoyed two previous spells with Bury.

The Manchester born Worrall also came through the youth system at Gigg Lane.
