FORMER Derby County defender Miles Addison is on trial with Southend United.
The 27-year-old was released by Peterborough United earlier this month.
And Blues boss Phil Brown will be keeping a close eye on the centre-back in training.
“Miles came in last week and will be spending all of this week with us as well,” said Brown.
“We will review the situation again after that.”
Addison, who worked with Brown while with the Rams, has also played for Barnsley, Bournemouth, Rotherham, Scunthorpe and Blackpool during his career which has seen him make 146 appearances.
Blues could be keen to bring in another centre-back with Luke Prosser looking to leave.
The defender is now attracting interest from seven League Two clubs including Northampton Town.
