BOLTON Wanderers have yet to make an official approach to speak to Southend United manager Phil Brown, Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin has confirmed.

The Trotters are believed to want Brown to replace Neil Lennon in charge at the Macron Stadium.

But Martin insisted he would knock back any attempts the Championship club may make to speak to the Blues boss.

“There has been no approach from Bolton but I wouldn’t allow Phil to talk to them even if there was,” said Martin.

“I would also be disappointed if Phil wanted to leave us.”
