DANIEL Bentley has been offered the best contract of Phil Brown’s reign to remain at Southend United.

Brown, who has been in charge of Blues since March 2013, insists the deal will be the last the Shrimpers shot-stopper will be offered to stay at Roots Hall.

And Brown believes Bentley should seriously consider signing the four-year contract.

“Daniel Bentley has been made a final contract offer and it’s a fantastic one too,” said Brown.

“I couldn’t have asked any more from my chairman because it’s a massive contract which is definitely the best we’ve offered anyone during my time here.

“I certainly think it’s one for Daniel and his representatives to consider after what I would say has been a reasonable season for him.”

Bentley, a product of the club’s youth system, has been an ever present between the sticks this season.
