A WHOLE host of former Southend United stars will be lining up in a charity clash for Havens Hospices tomorrow.

Ex Blues boss Steve Tilson will be joined by Ian Benjamin, Duncan Jupp, Leo Roget and Nathan Jones in the game which is being played at the Basildon Sports & Leisure Centre in Gardeners Way.

And Tilson, who has helped put the team together, is hoping to raise a good amount of money for the charity.

“We’ve got a number of former players coming down and it should be a great day,” said Tilson.

“Hopefully we can get a good crowd and we can raise a lot of money for charity.”

Comedian and Blues fan Terry Alderton will be in goal for the former Southend side along with ex midfielders Russell Williamson and David Lee.

Television presenter Jeff Brazier will also be in action for the team which is being managed by Glenn Pennyfather and Frankie Banks.

The Blues side will be taking on the Burmese Allsorts who have been put together by Sinclair Walton in memory of his father Horace.

“This event is all about the memory of my dad Horace who passed will that awful disease called cancer in June 1996,” said Walton.

“Dad was taken from his family and 20 years on we wish to remember him and raise monies to donate to Havens Hospices for which my partner Su Harrison is a patron.”

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 1pm and there will also be plenty of fun for all the family at the venue including a barbeque and a bouncy castle.

A raffle will also be taking place along with an auction for sporting memorabilia.
