BRENTFORD have tabled an offer for Southend United goalkeeper Daniel Bentley, Echosport understands.

Bentley – who has also attracted interest from Burnley, Bournemouth and Glasgow Rangers this summer – seems destined to depart Roots Hall before the start of next season.

But Blues have yet to decide whether or not to accept the Bees’ offer as they mull over how best to conclude a deal.

If the Shrimpers decide to reject the transfer fee – which is believed to be below their initial asking price – then the move would have to be sorted by a tribunal, unless the Championship club offered to improve their bid.

Bentley, 22, is out of contract with Southend this summer but still commands a transfer fee as he is under the age of 24.

The highly rated shot-stopper, who attracted an offer of £1.25million from Queens Park Rangers last August, has made 160 appearances for Blues.
