FORMER Notts County striker Ronan Murray could line up for Southend United at Great Wakering Rovers this afternoon.
Murray is looking for a new club after being released by Notts County at the end of last season.
But Shrimpers boss Phil Brown insists Murray is with the club to improve on his fitness.
“Ronan is good mates with Stephen McLaughlin who asked if Ronan could come in and I certainly don’t have a problem with that,” said Brown.
“He’s not on trial but you never know how these things can work out and there’s a chance he could feature in our game at Great Wakering.”
Murray, 24, has lined up for Ipswich Town, Torquay United, Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle during his career along with Notts County.
He has also represented Republic of Ireland in his youth and has scored 22 goals in 53 starts during his career.
