MARK Oxley has undergone a medical at Southend United.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper travelled to Dagenham to meet with Blues’ club doctor before heading back to Boots & Laces.
And boss Phil Brown confirmed the shot-stopper was now close to completing a switch to the Shrimpers.
“Mark was in and went to see the club doctor for a medical,” said Brown.
“He had a medical with the physiotherapist and our sports science team as well and if that all goes to plan then he will sign a two-year deal with us.”
Oxley will join Blues from Hibernian following Daniel Bentley’s decision to join Brentford.
The goalkeeper worked with Shrimpers chief Brown when at Hull City at the start of his career.
