Phil Brown - close to signing a striker
SOUTHEND United are close to complete the signing of an experienced striker.
Blues boss Phil Brown has held several rounds of talks with the forward who played in the Championship last season.
And Brown is now confident of bringing the striker – who has represented his country – to the club.
“We have agreed the move verbally now,” said Brown.
“Until pen has been put to paper and a medical has been done I won’t be saying too much but he will be coming to Spain.
“I would be delighted to sign him.”
Completing the transfer is also likely to end Blues’ interest in Tyrone Barnett.
