SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown believes Sheffield United are under more pressure than his own stuttering side at Bramall Lane tonight.

Blues have lost their first three games of the new campaign and have not won since beating the Blades back in March.

But Brown still feels the expectancy levels will be higher for the home-team tonight.

“Sheffield United are a massive club with massive traditions so their manager is under a lot of pressure as well,” said Brown.

“They will have around 20,000 fans there and if you think we’re under pressure then try playing for Sheffield United trying to get your first win.”

Blues, who are bottom of the early League One standings, were seen off 2-0 by Port Vale on Saturday.

And Brown has now opted to reduce the number of instructions being given to his players.

“There’s an awful lot of information going into these players but it’s probably been too much so we’re backing off,” said the Blues boss.

“Hopefully the way we’re approaching the game will get the performance we need to win.

“It’s up to me to pick a winning team and combination in terms of tactics but our changing room is still intact.”

And Brown is still working on bringing new signings to the club.

“I’m hopeful that by the end of the week we will have made more signings and I’ve got one or two on trial who may add to the cause,” he added.
