STEPHEN McLaughlin is aiming to continue his stunning start to the season when Southend United host Fleetwood Town at Roots Hall tomorrow.
McLaughlin has bagged three goals in the first five games of the new campaign.
And the Irishman believes a rigorous summer fitness regime has helped find his best form.
“I didn’t take a break at the end of last season,” said McLaughlin.
“I went back home to Ireland and one of my mates there is a personal trainer.
“I worked with him all summer and strengthened the areas where I got injured last season.
“Touch wood, it’s going well for me now but I need to keep it going.
“We’re only right at the start of the season and I want to do well all year.”
