BLUES boss Phil Brown is expecting an open encounter at MK Dons tomorrow.

Dons’ last seven games have seen 22 goals being scored.

And Brown is therefore anticipating a good footballing clash this weekend.

“Bradford played out from the back on Tuesday night and I think it will be a similar kind of game against MK Dons,” said Brown.

“Their coach, Karl Robinson, is well renowned for that kind of football and they have a dangerous strike force who get goals.

“But they also concede them at the other end and conceding twice in the last couple of minutes to draw with Bristol Rovers on Tuesday will have hurt them.

“It means they could be coming into this game on a bit of a downer whereas we’re coming into it on the up after two good results and performances.”

Blues saw off Chesterfield 1-0 before drawing 1-1 at Bradford City on Tuesday night.

And Brown has been delighted by how his side have responded to switching back to a 4-4-2 formation.

“Our confidence is growing and we’re more comfortable with the way we’re playing now,” said Brown.

“We had to play three centre-backs for a little while to get players through who hadn’t really had a pre-season.

“It’s worked well and in many ways it’s still a front three we’re playing as Stephen McLaughlin has been given that freedom to join the front two.”

And Brown believes his side are now carrying far more of a threat in the final third.

“We have that ability to get the ball into the final third and keep it there,” said the 57-year-old.

“The threat is now there for us to score goals too and eventually the strikers will come to the party in terms of goals.

“They will be the leading goalscorers come the end of the season and that’s something to look forward to, especially if Anthony Wordsworth and Stephen McLaughlin can continue to chip in.

“Woody has done well and it was great to read in the Echo he’s finally pain again after his recent troubles. But he needs to keep this form going now.”
