ECHOSPORT talks to Swindon Town fan Ben Wills ahead of tonight’s game at Roots Hall.

What have you made of the season so far?

“The season so far has been a frustrating and disappointing one as the talent is there. I still do not think the squad itself is one that should be lingering around the bottom four. The problem however is that only three players - Raphael Branco, captain Nathan Thompson and Jon Obika are over the age of 25 - so as soon as Swindon concede one goal the young heads drop and it spirals downwards pretty rapidly. Every match Swindon have won this season has been by to nil. The target now is to just avoid relegation, which it should not be but morale is that low.”

Who is actually in charge of the team right now?

“Tim Sherwood is manager in all-but name. He picks the team, is in charge of tactics and transfers. Sounds like the manager’s job, right? Exactly.

“Head coach Luke Williams does training during the week, although Sherwood has been pictured doing that as well. Williams is in the dugout on a matchday until it goes wrong, then he is joined by Sherwood but Williams then faces the media at full-time.”

Who do Blues need to keep an eye on tonight?

“Michael Doughty, who is on loan from QPR, is vital to making Town tick and midfield partners Sean Murray and Yaser Kasim are nifty too.

“However the latter is a very much ‘on his day’ player. When Kasim is on it, there is little you can do to stop him, but there is not enough of that. Jonathan Obika is also a very handy striker, but an injury prone one and Saturday was his latest return so might not still be up-to-speed by tonight.”

What’s the team news ahead of the game at Roots Hall?

“The aforementioned Kasim has an ankle problem, but Williams - who does not pick the team remember - is “hopeful” of a return, regular left-wing-back James Brophy is suffering from breathing problems.”

Predicted line up: Vigouroux, Furlong, Branco, Jones, Ormonde-Ottewill, Thomas, Rodgers, Murray, Doughty, Goddard, Obika
